Annyeong-haseyo! It’s obvious that Korean culture has a huge influence, especially K-Pop. But when it comes to food, there has been a noticeable surge of Korean restaurants all over the country serving up familiar and unfamiliar Korean food. While Korean cuisine has so much to offer top notch street food, chicken + beer, noodle stews, and soju much more one rising star has set our food scene on fire. 3 words, say it and we’re yours: Korean Barbecue Grill/Samgyupsal it consists of thick pork strips, served in the same fashion as galbi but there is no marinating involved. It is usually cooked on a grill with pa muchim, kimchi, mushrooms, garlic, onions and consumed altogether. This dish is usually served with a side of lettuce, spinach, or other leafy vegetables, which is used to wrap a slice of cooked Samgyupsal. A dab of ssamjang usually made of gochujang or dwenjang, kimchi, or other side dishes are also added and then eaten as a whole. While most Korean BBQ fanatics already have their favorite Korean restaurant in Manila, we’ve found an alternative for those who want their cravings satisfied but also want to avoid long lines, we already have it here in Tuguegarao. Which is the K-bowl.
The mark of restaurant is not necessary its size, but the quality of its food and being kind and accommodating of its server and I found it all here. The food was deliciously surprising. Somehow based on experience if food presentation was nice the food was so-so, this time around it corrected by biased opinion. Because the food is itself is good. And to its place it maybe small but the ambience is so refreshing and its the One with better decor and aura that will likely be more photographed, talked about and shared in the media. This is not to say that restaurants need to be high-end and classy, but they should be well kept, smartly designed and true to concept. And the concept in this restaurant is as good as the food. Unlike to other Korean restaurants there Samgyupsal is pricy, but in K-bowl there Samgyupsal will only cost you ₱300 per person. But its unlimited That’s why it is good for us student because is not that pricy that’s why it’s worth your money not just by the food itself, but on how the food will make you feel like you’re in Korea, but if you’re not a heavy eater this will not be worth it.
So I’ll give 4star to the Samgyupsal in K-Bowl. Because the food is delicious, the presentation and cleanliness is also good, their location is good but they don’t have enough parking area for their costumer, but its accessible so guys I recommend that you should try the Samgyupsal in K-Bowl located at #12 Mabini st., Ugac Norte, Tuguegarao City. Reservation is also accepted.
